Welcome PackageCount Me Out of the Dracula Slot Machine
Who doesn’t love the vampire genre? Between Bram Stoker, Anne Rice, and the Twilight series, it’s difficult to deny the popularity and appeal of Dracula. Powered by B3W software, unfortunately this 5-reel, 25-payline video reel about the blood-sucking monster doesn’t make the grade.
Sucky Game Graphics
I always gravitate toward games related to the Horror genre, and naturally I couldn’t wait to try out the Dracula online slot. You would expect a slot about vampires to provide a sure-fire quality gaming experience. Unfortunately, the Dracula slot machine pretty much “sucks”. The graphics look almost as though they were out of a coloring book. The reels do include classic images associated with the Dracula legend such as the bloodsucker himself along with his wife as well as bats, wolves, holy water, coffins, wooden stakes, and garlic cloves. Yes, the theme is cool, but the graphics just don’t live up to quality standards.
That being said, I did really enjoy the opening music that sounded like a sound clip from the 1930’s film with suspenseful music and Dracula’s evil laughter. The scary background has some appeal with winds and wolves howling. Spin the reels, and you’ll hear Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D minor plays on an organ adding a creepy element.
Ghoulish Game Features
The Dracula slot machine bonus features and mini-games somewhat make this game worth trying at least. The coffin symbol represents the Joker which functions the same as an expanding wild. When the coffin appears on the reel, it spreads across 3 positions, increasing the chances of getting winning combinations.
Certain combinations lead to the Crypt Bonus Game which starts when 3, 4, or 5 ax symbols show up on at least 3 adjacent reels anywhere on the screen. Once in the crypt, the player selects one coffin out of 20 to reveal different multiplier bonuses.
5 Dracula symbols on a line triggers the Vampires Bonus Game. During the bonus round, a row of 24 drawers appear containing different weapons including a gun, crucifix, garlic, stake, and holy water. You then must select different drawers with the object of finding 3 identical weapons. The game ends once three identical weapons appear, rewarding you with prizes. Winnings double if holy water appears before 3 identical weapons have been revealed. Although the graphics still don’t hit the mark, the overall atmosphere during this bonus round does achieve the kind of creepiness one would hope from a Dracula slot machine.
